Study landscape painting with a modern approach to realism. Rather than referencing photography, Joseph instructs students to interpret light, form, and color through paint in order to infuse each painting with the power of personal imagination and memory. Finding a deeper connection with the beauty of the landscape, students will enrich their practice by using his technical methods and exploring his philosophy to gain a deeper level of understanding of the natural world.

- 6 small Masonite or canvas panels, 9x12 inches, acrylic primed

JOSEPH MCGURL is known as one of the most sought after and influential landscape artists currently working in America.  This has been confirmed by his inclusion in several important museum shows and his successful relationship with some of the country's leading galleries. He has been designated a Living Master by the Art Renewal Center, is a signature member of the Plein Air Painters of America, an elected member of the Guild of Boston Artists, was a Copley Master with the Copley Society of Boston, is a fellow of the American Society of Marine Artist, and has won significant awards for his artwork. Additionally, he has been the subject of numerous book and magazine articles, and he conducts workshops and presents lectures throughout the country.

Cancellation and Refund Policy:

PROCESSING FEE: A nonrefundable $100 processing fee is included in each tuition.

ENROLLMENT CANCELLATION: If you need to cancel your enrollment, please notify the AAN Education Department 14 days prior to the class start date to receive your partial refund. We appreciate the opportunity to promote our programming and fill your place. 

ABSENCE: Although we are not able to prorate programming or offer make up days, prior knowledge of your absence is extremely helpful to our instructors. 

FULL REFUNDS: The AAN will issue full refunds when programming is cancelled due to low enrollments or state mandated business closure.
